PRINCIPLES OF ANIMATION


 1. Squash And Stretch.
Squash and stretch is the most important element of animation, as stated by the article we have been assigned to read. Squash and stretch demonstrates the illusion of weight and volume to any moving subject and is also used to create facial features and expressions.

2. Anticipation.
This is the movement an animated character does to capture the audiences attention before preforming a  larger, more significant action. Example: the pulling taught of an arrow in a bow before the release. 

3. Staging. 
Staging is the placement of the character; body language, facial expression, camera angle, and setting of the scene that is used to continue the story and build characterization. The article also states not to overdo it as not to confuse viewers, so make sure not to have it cluttered and to keep the camera angles the same.

4. Straight Ahead and Pose to Pose Animation.
Straight ahead animation is the sequence of working through a scene with drawings, many fast paced scenes are done this way. You can sometimes lose proportions and volume but as the article states, it is known to be fresh and spontaneous. Pose to pose is done basically the same way but it is easier for the animator to have an assistant for pose to pose is more planned and charted and uses key drawings.

Logo

Where did you begin?
Hummingbirds are known to be loyal, playful, persistent and affectionate. I chose this animal because I share these traits and I thought it would be an asset to my profession if I portrayed having them to potential customers .

Elements And Principles
For color, i chose kind of cool, light colours so that if would be easy on the eyes and pleasant to look at, I also made sure that in the black and white version, your eyes would be drawn to the attention to detail in the thick lines sketched into the wings and along the tail. My lines are organic and smooth and I used space by fitting the lines and shape into the bird's wings to portray movement.

Thoughts And Opinion.
I actually quite like my logo, I did learn a lot about illustrator, like specifically which tools do what exactly and how to manipulate them to get what you want. If i could change anything about my logo I'd probably make it more neat looking and less rushed. I'm not sure what I would like to do next but I'm excited to find out!
